    Hi,

i just noticed the left-hand half of this editor screen has become 'misty'. i checked an old film on it and the effect is still there - so it's not the camera, it's the editor: one half of the screen image crystal clear, the other misted.

the manual says nothing about this / how to rectify this: any suggestions, please?

    Lightbulb

    For information.

i took the editor apart, it had a total of four mirrors inside, all showing some misting on their surfaces, which i removed with Jessops lens cleaner

this was a very awkward procedure because the mirrors are fixed (glued?) into position, so you have to attempt to clean them in situ [and cannot reposition them - if needs be]

this has improved the overall film visual display but the left hand misting (slight out of focus?) is still apparent

one mystery i did solve however was a cut off corner on the visual display (lower right) which turned out to be a wire out of place, in the middle of the editor, interrupting the reflection from the film gate to rear mirror to screen

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Its either A) there is a slight mis-alignment in the mirrors causing the soft focus or B) the film is not being held down evenly in the gate area
